Insidente

Another nefarious incident here in Port Harcourt took place the other day. A Filipino was kidnapped by certain group of people disguised as soldiers. This is a normal occurrence going on here since the problem erupted more than a year ago. So far, statistic says that there were about 200 expatriates that were kidnapped and most of them were freed after their respective companies had paid the ransom.

Sometimes, I am frightened to think what will happen just in case you had been kidnapped. The probability is not remote to happen to us who we are working here in Port Harcourt. The only thing I can do while I am here is to pray and always be alert.

Our kababayans back home might be wondering why there are still hundreds of Filipinos still working in this area. Well, the bottom-line reason is syempre pera.

Pero there is always two sides of the coin. Will you take the risk gaya ng ginagawa namin rito?
